Antigua - The Villa - Montserrat

The eruption of the Soufiere Hills volcano in 1995 put the Caribbean island of Montserrat on the world map. Many residents were evacuated in 1997 and an exclusion zone surrounding the still-active volcano restricts travel to the southern part of the island. The people of Montserrat are rebuilding their mountainous island to be enjoyed for future generations.   1995 Volcano Eruption
